How much do the promotions cost from White to Black Belt?

Each promotion includes belt, certificate, review and written feedback. The fee is $60 per level (including black belt). There are a total of nine grades to pass through to black belt (first degree).

What are the official belt ranks?

White, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Blue, Blue-Stripe,
Green, Green-Stripe, Brown, Brown-Stripe

Black Belt First through Tenth Degrees.

Do I need a partner for practice?

With regard to the tape series - many students have progressed through the series without a training partner.

Can more than one person train from the same set?

Yes, friends or family can train and test using the same series. The only requirement is that separate testing videos are submitted for review if ranking is desired.

How can I test?

Simply record yourself performing the movements for the level that you are testing for and send in the tape. You will receive a certificate and belt based on your achievement.

How long will it take for my DVDs (or VHS tapes) to arrive?

The guaranteed time is 4-6 weeks. Generally, however, orders ship in the first 1-2 weeks.

How effective is learning from DVDs compared to a school?

These are the only videos for learning Shaolin-Kempo-Karate. They have the best masters in the organization featured along with the founder. We have seen excellent results comparable with training in a school. The results will depend on individual effort, motivation and time devoted to training.

I have prior experience. May I start the program as a "______" belt and send my first video test to earn my "______" belt?

Yes. You may start the testing process at any level provided that you send in a copy of your legitimate martial arts certificate and demonstrate the skills necessary for rank verification/promotion in the art of Shaolin-Kempo-Karate.

I was wondering how I would go about exchanging a bad DVD?

If one or more of your DVD's or tapes are not functional please send it back with your order number and contact information.

Does the system includes some kind of weapon like staff, sword, kali, etc?

The Grandmaster has included in his series weapons defenses for knives, sticks and guns.

Do I need some special equipment to practice Shaolin-Kempo-Karate?

No you do not need special equipment.

I live outside the USA. Is rank achievement still possible? How about affiliation?

Yes you can advance in our organization wherever you are from and you may inquire about affiliation. See the contacts section for more details.

How long is each volume of your White to Black Belt Series?

About an hour but they vary. Some are a little longer and some a bit shorter.
